Gypsophila Elegans Rosea, Pink (Gypsophila elegans)

In the Garden

Beyond cutting, baby’s breath adds airiness to borders. Plant it among bold-flowered plants to soften the effect. The white flowers brighten shady spots and look beautiful in moonlight gardens.

Cutting and Drying

Fresh: Cut when about half the flowers are open. Long vase life.

Dried: Hang upside down in a dark, dry place. Dries beautifully and lasts for years.

Growing Tips

Direct sow in spring – baby’s breath dislikes transplanting. It prefers alkaline soil (add lime if soil is acidic). Succession plant every 2-3 weeks for continuous blooms. Plants are short-lived; expect about 6 weeks of bloom from each sowing.
