Ipomoea tricolor Milky Way (Ipomoea tricolor)
Fast climber: Can grow 3 meters in a single season
Morning ritual: Flowers open fresh each morning
Electric blue: “Heavenly Blue” is unforgettably vivid
The Daily Miracle
Morning glories produce fresh flowers every morning – each bloom opens at dawn and fades by afternoon. The next day brings new flowers. This daily renewal gives the vine constant fresh color throughout summer.
The Famous Blue
“Heavenly Blue” morning glory is one of the most intensely colored flowers in existence – an electric sky blue that photographs cannot capture. Other colors include pink, purple, red, white, and striped varieties.
Vigorous Climbing
Morning glories climb by twining and can cover a fence, trellis, or arbor in a single season. They are perfect for quick screening, covering eyesores, or adding vertical color. Provide strings or wire for them to climb.
Growing Tips
Nick or soak seeds overnight to speed germination. Plant after last frost in full sun. Poor soil actually produces more flowers – too much nitrogen makes leaves, not blooms. Self-sows readily; can become weedy in some areas.
